Web based Game Design

In this course, a web game is designed and created using Unity. No programming skills are necessary, since there are various plug-ins such as Bolt, allowing to implement solutions visually. Therefore, it will be possible for all participants to implement a prototype or ideas.

Prof. Dr. Siegfried Handschuh

Siegfried Handschuh is a Full Professor of Data Science and Natural Language Processing at the Institute of Computer Science at the University of St. Gallen. With a background in computer science from the University of Ulm and information science from the University of Konstanz, Prof. Handschuh earned his PhD from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, where his thesis was conducted in collaboration with Stanford University as part of the DARPA DAML project. After completing his PhD, Prof. Handschuh spent eight years leading the Knowledge Discovery Unit at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics in Galway, Ireland. During this time, he collaborated with several multinational companies and was an active participant in the Digital Aristotle project, which was backed by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. Since 2018, Prof. Handschuh has been based in Switzerland, where his research focuses on generative AI and Large Language Models. With his wealth of experience and expertise, he is well-equipped to guide students in their studies of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) and AI Chatbots in particular.

Patrizia Sailer

Patrizia Sailer received her master’s degree in Cloud Computing Engineering in 2021 from FH Burgenland, while doing research in the department on “Cloud, Cyber Physical Systems and Security” at Forschung Burgenland. In 2023, she was able to get a second master’s degree in the field of “Business Information Systems”. Her interest in Game Development was raised during her bachelor studies at FH Joanneum Kapfenberg, while she was on a semester abroad at TU Dublin in 2019. Since 2022, she has been an established member of the FH Burgenland, where she teaches in the Department of Information Technology.

Dr. Michael Lewrick, PhD, MBA

Michael Lewrick has spent the last years exploring very deeply the mindset that enables us to solve different kinds of problems. He is, among other things, the author of the international best-sellers Design Thinking and Innovation Metrics, Design Thinking for Business Growth, The Design Thinking Toolbox, and The Design Thinking Playbook in which he describes the mindful transformation of people, teams, and organizations. He works extensively with universities and companies, and people’s self-efficacy in personal and organizational change projects is always at the forefront of his thinking. He is an internationally recognized expert in the fields of digital transformation and the management of innovations, and numerous companies have developed, refined, or scaled innovation, growth, and ecosystem strategies with his help. Michael collaborates in design thinking and business ecosystems design with Drucker School of Management, Stanford University, University of Bandung and many other Institutions globally.
