Created by the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons (FHGR) in Switzerland, the University of Zadar (UNIZD) in Croatia, and the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland in Austria, JoSSIS offers exciting educational, research and networking opportunities for all students. Course 01: AI Chatbots

In this course, you will learn the basics of chatbots and how they work with artificial intelligence. You will understand how chatbots can have and understand human-like conversations and how they are used in different industries.

Prof. Dr. Siegfried Handschuh

Prof. Dr. Siegfried Handschuh is a Full Professor of Data Science and Natural Language Processing at the Institute of Computer Science at the University of St. Gallen. With a background in computer science from the University of Ulm and information science from the University of Konstanz, Prof. Handschuh earned his PhD from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, where his thesis was conducted in collaboration with Stanford University as part of the DARPA DAML project. Patrizia Sailer

Patrizia Sailer received her master’s degree in Cloud Computing Engineering in 2021 from FH Burgenland, while doing research in the department on “Cloud, Cyber Physical Systems and Security” at Forschung Burgenland. In 2023, she was able to get a second master’s degree in the field of “Business Information Systems”. Her interest in Game Development was raised during her bachelor studies at FH Joanneum Kapfenberg, while she was on a semester abroad at TU Dublin in 2019. Since 2022, she has been an established member of the FH Burgenland, where she teaches in the Department of Information Technology.
